A seamless steel pipe is a circular pipe having a hollow section and no seams around it.  The seamless steel pipe is made of carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel ingot or solid tube blank, and then is made by hot rolling, cold rolling or cold drawing.  Seamless pipes are considered superior to welded pipes as they are built using monolithic steel billets, with intrinsic mechanical strength, without seam welds.

Welded pipes used for oil and gas transmissions, it includes the pipes manufactured in seamless and welded (ERW, SAW). Materials covers API 5L Grade B, X42, X46, X52, X56, X60, X65, X70, X80 PSL1 & PSL2 onshore, offshore and sour services.

Un tubo sin costura es un tubo circular que tiene una sección hueca y no tiene costuras a su alrededor. El tubo sin costura está hecho de acero al carbono, acero aleado, lingote de acero inoxidable o tubo macizo en bruto, y luego se fabrica mediante laminado en caliente, laminado en frío o estirado en frío. Los tubos sin costura se consideran superiores a los tubos soldados, ya que se construyen utilizando palanquillas de acero monolíticas, con resistencia mecánica intrínseca, sin costuras soldadas.
